When should I refill my cartridges?

We strongly recommend replacing or refilling empty ink cartridges as soon as they run out and refrain from printing on an empty cartridge, as this will damage your printhead.

How many times can I refill my ink cartridges?

The amount of times a cartridge can be refilled depends on the care taken between refilling and the inkjet print head. Until this wears out you can keep recycling your empty cartridges. As a rule of thumb, a cartridge can usually be refilled up to seven times. There is a sponge to hold ink in your cartridges, and that sponge has a limited ability to absorb ink. At the end of its lifespan, the sponge will no longer be able to hold ink, which then causes your ink to leak, even if it was recently refilled. This would be the point when you exchange your cartridge for a new one, which Hanns also sells in shop.

Chip issue?

Some cartridges have a chip to communicate with a printer, so the printer can  show how much ink is left in your cartridges. When you refill your cartridges, your printer won't be able to recognize if your cartridges are no longer empty. Our ink technician will reset your cartridge chip so your printer recognizes that your cartridges full again. However, some of the newer cartridge models, as well as some specific models, can not be reset. In this case, we will show you how to set up your printer so that it will not read the chip, and continue to operate as normal. In some cases, you can also buy from our selection of generic brand cartridges at a reasonable price.
